About Title VI

What is Title VI - Native American Education? According to the U.S. Department of Education - Office of Indian Education, “Title VI, Part A of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) supports a comprehensive approach to educational improvement and reform for Indian students, helping ensure they benefit from national education reforms and receive every opportunity to achieve high standards. The programs promote the efforts of schools, local educational agencies, and Indian tribes and organizations to meet the unique educational needs of their American Indian and Alaska Native students.

What we do

The Native American Education program provides supportive services to Native American Students enrolled in RSU #29 and empowers district educators to systemically integrate Wabanaki culture, history, and identity within our district. Our goal is to connect students with their Native history, cultures, and traditions, instilling cultural pride and confidence to achieve academic standards and graduation
